M&E Sustainability sponsors low carbon champion
M&E Sustainability has agreed to sponsor a category in the 2010 Low Carbon Performance Awards organised by the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE).
The awards are designed “to recognise, reward and celebrate excellence, innovation and professionalism in the achievement of real performance in
sustainable low carbon building design, construction and operation”.
The M&E Sustainability category – entitled Champion of Carbon Saving Champions – relates to CIBSE’s 100 Hours of Carbon Clean Up campaign, in which “carbon saving champions” play a key role, assuming responsibility for running the initiative within the workplace and ensuring that communications relating to the campaign are passed to every member of staff.
The award will be presented to the individual who demonstrates “outstanding leadership, determination, application and initiative in changing the culture, as well as reducing the carbon emissions of an organisation and its building(s)”.
The 2009 awards ceremony was co-hosted by former Mayor of London Ken Livingstone and record-breaking yachtswoman and environmental pioneer Dame Ellen MacArthur (left).
Presentation of the 2010 awards will take place in the Great Room of the Grosvenor House Hotel, London W1, on the evening of Wednesday 3 February. The CIBSE Journal will act as media partner.
