Asking the smart questions

This year's BEAMA conference, supported by M&E Sustainability, will focus on: ‘Smart Electricity Systems - Bringing Networks, Buildings and Individual Transport Together For a Smarter Approach to Energy Management’.

Taking place at The Belfry near Birmingham on February 3rd, it will consider the following crucial questions: What are smart electricity networks? What are the political drivers and regulatory barriers to realising their potential? Who should be involved in the ‘smart shift’? Which technology solutions exist and how will manufacturing product development programmes be affected? Just how will this affect the way we supply and consume electricity?

Also, will the smart revolution be phased or immediate in its impact? And can we learn more from other technology sectors that have experienced a revolution driven by the digital age?

BEAMA says it is well positioned to host this debate because it represents manufacturers affected by the smart revolution ‘from power station to appliance’. This seminar will examine the opportunities for technology manufacturers, the links between them, and the potential to deliver so much of what policy makers are striving for.
