Have your say on Parts L & F
Part L is probably the most significant piece of legislation affecting all parts of the m&e industry.
The Government's consultation on revisions due to come into force next October is well underway alongside its review of Part F.
Part L, which covers energy conservation, and Part F, ventilation, are inextricably linked. Some of the Part L airtightness standards alongside the need to reduce energy consumption by 25 per cent make achieving the indoor air quality goals of Part F difficult in a number of areas.
CIBSE is currently arranging a series of regional seminars to gather views from across the sector to feed into a collective response to the consultation. Visit the Knowledge Bank section of the CIBSE website for details of the key changes and how to give your input at a meeting near you.
BSRIA is running an email helpdesk on behalf of the Department for Communities and Local Government to provide technical guidance to the building services sector. It has also produced a summary of the key changes to Part L and their likely impact on the industry.
